Figures released by the Office of National Statistics have shown that the UK welcomed 30.8 million overseas visitors to the UK. This is a good indication for international tourism. The figures indicate a 3.3% rise in 2011 when compared to visitors in 2010.

These statistics are also encouraging as they show that the length of stay is also increasing.

As you would expect, most visitors visited the capital and almost half of the visitors enjoyed an overnight stay in the UK; an increase of 4%. The rest of the UK achieved just under the 4% increase in stays.

This is good news for the UK hotel sector and supports the UK hotel investment model.
