Needham House boasts an enviable location just 30 miles north of central London, in the picturesque village of Little Wymondley, with easy access to the road network on the nearby A1(M). Rail links are good, with London’s Kings Cross just 20 minutes away from Stevenage main line station, with 7-8 trains per hour during peak times. Luton Airport is only a 20 minute journey and Heathrow is about an hour.

Needham House was built in 1911 and is named after the original land owner, James Needham, the accountant, surveyor-general and clerk of King Henry VIII, who was granted Wymondley Priory in 1537. During this time, Needham was responsible for overseeing the works and alterations at the King's manors of Otford, Knole and Petworth. It is in honour of his work in King Henry VIII court that Needham House is named. Needham House, formerly Blakemore House, was built in 1911 by Major Thomas Clemens Usher for his new bride as a grand private mansion in the Georgian style.
