Exterior Works and Modular Deliveries Reaching Completion at The Glass Works
The construction of The Glass Works, one of Newcastle’s newest student accommodation developments, is progressing well working towards opening for the new academic year in September 2015.
There has been a great amount of activity on the site with significant progress being made even since our last update just three weeks ago.

With the winter weather in the North East having remained mild, the construction process remains on schedule. The external cladding and brickwork for Block B is now complete, whilst internally, the dry lining is nearly completed in preparation for plastering to take place.
Block E will be the next to complete external works, with the installation of the brickwork having already started. The fix of mechanical and electrical works in the block is also underway in addition to the positioning of the bathroom pod.
The external envelope of Block D is being fitted to completed containers, with internal works continuing to connect the modules, the parapet walls and the waterproofing to the roof.
Over at Block C (East), groundworks are nearly complete with modules for the block now on site. Similarly, groundworks are nearing completion on Block A and Block C (West), with delivery of the modules due to take place on June 1st.
Once these have been delivered and installed, the modular phase of the project will be complete, with work to the facades due to take place over the summer. The project remains on schedule to deliver Blocks B, E and D by late August, with the remaining details for the landscaping, access and signage arrangements now in place.
