Limited Units Available as Calderdale House Construction Continues
Groundworks and construction of the steel frame has been fully completed as construction on the Calderdale House care home in West Yorkshire continues.
Since our last update in February, work at the construction site for the new care home has made excellent progress. The gabion retaining wall has now been fully completed, with the exception of the top end of the site. This area will be retained throughout the construction process for the purposes of storage, crane location and site access. The transfer deck has seen the erection of its steel framework fully completed. The formwork and reinforcement is 50% completed on the transfer deck and concrete has been poured in these areas.

The first phase of the timber framework on site is now virtually completed, with Elements Construction currently installing the roof trusses necessary to support the beams that will hold the roofline structure. Delivery of construction materials including the panels for the Upper Ground and First Floors of the building, in addition to the Phase 2 materials for the timber framework has also begun. This will be followed by the materials for Second Floor for Phase 2 and the Upper Ground Floor for Phase 3.
The utilities works on site are almost complete at this stage, with the drainage systems only requiring the final connections to be made. Design of the mechanical and electrical works is complete, with work from the nominated specialist subcontractors due to begin in Phase 1 of the timber framework. Plans have also been established for the design of the lift and its fabrication.
